Puttting the "Man" back in Stedman

This week I was wondering what my first examination of femininity and masculinity on film, tv, or movies would be. I found the task very difficult. However, I did eventually come up with something. Yesterday I was watching TMZ on Fox, which is a television show about the local news and gossip about celebrities' lives. The show specializes in finding the dirt on celebrities. On this particular episode they were talking about Oprah's boyfriend, or man toy, Stedman. Before they interviewed Stedman, they were saying things such as "Oprah wears the pants in the relationship" and making fun of Stedman's lack of presence. When they interviewed him they asked the question, "Hows Oprah?" Stedman would reply, "Good." Then they asked "So, you went to the inauguration with Oprah?" Stedman replied, "No she went with me." Later the camera man asked if he attended any of the inaugural balls with Oprah, and Stedman again said that Oprah went with him. Afterwards TMZ said Stedman finally put the "Man" back in "Stedman" because he was standing up and saying that he took Oprah to the inauguration and the ball. However, TMZ was just teasing because Oprah is a powerful woman and she took herself to the inauguration and invited Stedman, so they believe. The show basically belittle Stedman because Oprah is like the most famous and powerful woman in the world and Stedman is essential nobody. They were basically emasculating him with the questions " So, you went to the inauguration with Oprah" and "Did she take you the ball?" They were making Stedman more a the female in the relationship instead of the male he is.
